What we collect

We keep the minimum a membership organization needs to operate, and nothing we cannot explain in a sentence.

• —Your name and email address, when you create an account
• —The business profile you write for the member directory — name, category, description, contact details, photos
• —Events you submit to the community calendar
• —Membership records — your tier, status, join date, and payment history (amount, date, and tier; never card numbers)

ii.

The directory is public on purpose

A chamber directory exists to be seen. When you submit a business profile and we approve it, everything in it — including the phone number, email, and address you chose to list — is published on this site for anyone to find. Only list contact details you want public. Nothing appears until you submit it and an administrator approves it, and if your membership lapses, your listing is hidden (not deleted) until you rejoin.

Payments

All payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe’s own secure pages. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers — we could not see them if we wanted to. What we keep is the receipt: what was paid, when, and for which membership. Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.

Email

We send email through Resend, in two kinds:

• —Membership email — receipts, renewal reminders, and updates about content you submitted. These are part of being a member and are sent as needed.
• —Chamber news — occasional announcements and the newsletter. Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and once you unsubscribe we keep your address on a suppression list solely so we never write to it again.

Cookies

One cookie: the session cookie that keeps you signed in. No advertising trackers, no analytics cookies that follow you around the internet, no third-party pixels.

What we never do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We do not run third-party advertising. We share data only with the services that run this site — Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Google Firebase for accounts and storage — and only what each needs to do its job.

vii.

Your choices

You can edit your profile and email preferences from your account at any time. If you want your account and personal data deleted, write to us at hello@bhsagchamber.org and we will take care of it — please allow a little time, as some payment records must be retained for bookkeeping and tax purposes.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Questions belong at hello@bhsagchamber.org — a person reads that inbox.
